About Antioxidants

Antioxidants (e.g. vitamins A, C, E, selenium and carotenoids) are substances that can prevent cell damage from free radicals - unstable molecules produced as by-products of normal metabolism.

Why are free radicals so bad?

High concentrations of free radicals are very harmful to our bodies. They increase the risk of developing many diseases, including cancer, heart disease, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and others.

Recommendations

Consume a wide variety of foods that are rich in antioxidants that can help you neutralize the harmful effects of free radicals. The most common ones are dark chocolate, strawberries, blueberries, or green tea. Many more are described on the Macromo Insider. If dietary enhancement is not sufficient, dietary supplements can also be taken.
